Joseph Youngblood III
Recruit Profile
Intelligent, disciplined, and team-oriented multi-sport athlete; Tactical, physical and versatile defender; Responsive to multiple coaching styles; Committed to my all-around development as a student, leader and athlete.
I am a junior (2023) at The Pennington School, a selective, independent college preparatory school in NJ. I have played lacrosse continuously since the age of 5 with Lower Bucks Lacrosse, Headstrong Philly Quakers, and The Pennington School. I currently play Varsity Lacrosse and JV Basketball at Pennington. Being a multi-sport athlete has assisted with time management, year-round conditioning, footwork, and body control. For the past three years, I have benefited from playing up one grade level on the Headstrong Quakers 2022 Team. In addition to learning from great college coaches, playing with the 2022 team forced me to play smarter and work harder to compete with stronger, faster, and more experienced athletes. As a defenseman, I bring a strong lacrosse IQ, great field vision, and strong focus on footwork, stick placement, communication and clearing. I am developing an all-around defensive game balancing 1v1, team defense and man down defense. I have a strong EQ on and off the field, and I am a serious and committed student leader. I am interested in STEM programs and I have been enrolled in honors courses in my freshman and sophomore years at Pennington. I have served as a freshman and sophomore representative to the Student Council, and I am a youth leader and Acolyte at my Church.

I have know Joseph for the past year. In that time I have found him to be a driven young man. He is determined to succeed at the next level both athletically and academically. He is an outstanding student who will excel at any institution. His steadfast resolve in the classroom will enable him to be an exemplary student athlete. Athletically Joseph has great size and range to keep Attackmen away from the cage. Joseph has an aptitude to get the ball off the ground quickly and get it upfield to spark transition. In my 21 years coaching college lacrosse I am certain Joseph Youngblood will be an asset to any program. He is coachable and has a willingness to expand his lacrosse IQ. When Joseph fills his 6"1 frame out with a consistent college strength and conditioning program he can be an athlete that can dictate and lead a collegiate defense. It has been a pleasure this past year seeing JYIII develop and mature into a highly recruitable athlete and sought after prospect. I am available to speak more in depth about Joseph.
