Skylar Hilmer
Recruit Profile
Speedy three sport Varsity athlete since freshman year. Coachable, team player, good field sense, with a constant drive to improve both on and off the field. #36
I began playing lacrosse in 8th grade and fell in love with the sport during my freshman season. Midfield is the position that I prefer, but I am happy to play anywhere the team needs me. During my Junior year, I was a starting midfielder, named MVP of the Eastern League, MVP of my high school team, and second team all CIF in the Open Division. I lead my team in goals (64), assists (38), ground balls, and turnovers. Sophomore year, I was a co-leader in goals and assists. I was the only freshman on varsity lacrosse and we were the CIF D2 Champions, the first lacrosse title in school history.
I played #1 doubles in tennis all four years and was a three year captain. During my senior year, my doubles partner and I won the Western League doubles championship becoming the league's doubles players of the year. We were seeded #6 in the San Diego CIF individual playoffs and made it to the quarter finals in CIF. My junior year I received the Coaches award, the Spirit award, finished tied for third in women's doubles in the Western league with my partner. Freshman year, my partner and I were doubles tennis players of the year in the Eastern league, first team all league, and we helped lead our team to win the CIF D2 Championship, the first tennis title in school history.
During my senior year, I am the starting striker, second in goals, and first in assists on my team. I was the leading scorer on Varsity soccer my sophomore year. I didn't play high school soccer my Junior year due to too many conflicts with lacrosse and tennis.
When I was 13, I set my mind on completing a marathon alongside my parents. With no prior experience, I finished the 26.2 mile Catalina marathon in 2018, being the youngest female to finish and earning first place in my F 0-19 age group.
II am a serious and dedicated student who has always loved to learn. I've been in the Engineering program since 7th grade. I finished junior year with a 4.64 weighted GPA (4.0 unweighted). I have logged over 100 hours volunteering at my church because I love giving back to my community. I have a part time job at Einstein Bagels where I work 4 hours most weekends.
