Sarah Hearns
Recruit Profile
Coachable, aggressive/quick to the ball, motivated by injuries, multi-sport athlete, coach to younger student-athletes
I have been playing lacrosse since I was 9 years old and for a club since I was 10, starting with attack and eventually moving back throughout the positions to a goalie. Due to my experience playing attack I am able to follow plays and anticipate shots which are about to be taken. My main position before goalie was defense, due to that experience, I am able to communicate clearly and effectively with my defenders to prevent goals/shots. With experience out of the net in the past, I am very comfortable coming out of the crease in order to make a play on the clear. In addition to playing varsity lacrosse for two years at Proctor Academy, I have also played and started in every game for the varsity field hockey team since I was a freshman. I play center defense and in my sophomore season I scored 2 goals, assisted 2, and recorded 10 defensive saves. This fall I have been ranked as the #2 Field Hockey Defender in New Hampshire coming into the season. During my sophomore year, I took three honors courses and finished with a 4.0/4.0 GPA. This year (Junior year) I plan on taking 4 APs; Spanish, Human Geography, Language, and Statistics. In addition, I will be spending my winter semester abroad in Segovia, Spain studying Spanish.
