Sam DiDio
Recruit Profile
Sprinter speed, quick acceleration, athletic, unselfish, team player, tenacious and aggressive, hard working and disciplined, never quit attitude, very coachable with strong lacrosse IQ, multi-sport athlete.
I started playing lacrosse at age 10. As a Youth player, I developed my stick skills from both sides through constant practice and repetition. I liked to "practice after practice" to help me become a better player. I developed a love for the game and haven't looked back since.
I feel that my primary assets are my exceptional speed, athleticism, and my quickness. I've always been told that these assets are God given and can't be taught. As a track sprinter, I excelled against my competition, but the goal for me was to apply my speed to lacrosse. I constantly strive to improve my stick skills, my leg strength, and my IQ to become a more versatile and effective player each time I take the field. Lacrosse is meant to be played at a high speed with great strength. That level of play is always what I strive to produce on the field.
Playing ice hockey and inline hockey gave me a good foundation for lacrosse. There are many similarities in the games. Also, my experience as a track and field sprinter helped my lacrosse game as well. I love to run fast!
I am disciplined and a hard worker on and off the field. My academics are important to me and I understand what it takes to be a high performing student athlete and a well rounded and good person in general. My goal is to attend a college that has great academics as well as great lacrosse.

Sam is a pleasure to coach both on and off the field. He's extremely coachable and has words very hard to get where he is today. HIs ability to shoot on the run and with his feet planted has come from many hours of work in the backyard. His speed is rarely matched and his ability to separate in the open field or close the gap on defense makes him a matchup nightmare. Off the field he's a respectful coachable player who is one any coach can trust to be a leader. His willingness to do what the team needs, whether helping a teammate understand an offense of putting in the work to help himself that the next step, helps push him forward towards the goals he's set for himself and the team.
