Ryan Magee
Recruit Profile
A results-oriented leader who is focused, decisive, and determined to win.
As a goalie for the past 12 years, my skills and strategies continue to evolve to higher levels of performance. I have learned how to make an accelerated, forward-moving transition game that allows the offense to be more successful in transition. In addition to skills and strategy, my greatest strength is the leadership that I provide for my teammates. I communicate early and often, am always focused on improvement for me and my team, and maintain a positive and results-oriented attitude.
In addition to lacrosse, I have played starter positions in football for the past 12 years and in basketball for 10 years at youth, JV, and Varsity levels. I thoroughly enjoy competing in multiple sports year-round as it allows me to be more physically fit and to have a better work ethic on the field and in the classroom. For my sophomore year, I decided not to play basketball. This change eliminated the season overlap conflicts that occur between football and lacrosse, allowed me to weightlift, and to take on a more demanding course load. It also allowed me to work part time so that I can save money for college. I have been involved in Boy Scouts for 12 years holding leadership positions, engaging in service projects and outdoor high adventures. I earned my Eagle Scout rank in November 2022, a testament to my character, leadership, and service to others.
For the past 6 years, I’ve earned President's List or Honor Roll. For my junior year, my current GPA is 4.419 and I was inducted into the National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars. I am taking AP courses in Computer Science, Macroeconomics, and Microeconomics and Honors courses in Latin IV, English, Anatomy & Physiology, and Pre-Calculus. As a underclassman, my courses included AP US History (exam score 4) and Honors courses in Algebra II, Modern World History, English, Latin II & III, International Relations, and Ceramics I & II. I plan to complete 8 AP courses prior to graduating in May 2024.
The Lake Highland Prep community has challenged and encouraged me to do my best so that I will be prepared for college and have a solid foundation of values for my adult life.
Thank you for reviewing my profile and considering me for your team!

Jeff Vander Meulen
Ryan is the epitome of what you ask for in a goalie. HE LOVES the position and the game. He competes just as hard in practice as he does under the lights. Multi-sport athlete, great kid, and incredible goalie. He has a bright future in this game and it is a privilege to coach him.
Matt Casey
Ryan is the definition of a GREAT teammate! His ability to save the ball and throw accurate outlets make him a goalie any coach would put on the field. However, his ability to communicate and galvanize a defense make him a coach’s dream. A “lax rat” who is tough as nails. Honestly, just an overall great kid!
