I first picked up a lacrosse stick as a kindergartner, loved the sport and joined Maryland United's East team at the age of 12. I love playing defense and I am especially good at reading the field and face guarding high scoring opponents. Though I did not get to play lacrosse at my high school this spring, I worked hard with training through API and MULC. As a Pioneer Leadership Scholar at Archbishop Spalding, I have challenged myself to taking a rigorous all Honors curriculum and plan to take AP Psychology next year. I hope to further develop leadership skills through joining student government. I was also involved in the One Love chapter, at my school, which focuses on educating peers about healthy relationships, and manned our booth at the club fair. Outside of school, my family is committed to helping those who are food insecure through Back Pack Buddies and We Care and Friends. At Thanksgiving I organized a turkey drive in my neighborhood and helped serve a free Thanksgiving dinner to over 1,000 people at the Stanton Center in Annapolis. Through the "Linda's Legacy-Giving Back" organization, I was able to collect and then help organize clothing for homeless shelters in Baltimore and helped deliver them on Christmas Eve. During the recent quarantine, I organized a food drive for SPAN (Severna Park Action Network) for people who are facing hard times because of the coronavirus. I hope to continue this work to help others through out my life.
