Dear Coach,

My name is Logan Kennedy and my dream is to play college lacrosse. I am a rising sophomore at Holly Springs High School, where I will be playing for the Hawks lacrosse team. I have played lacrosse year round for the YLS (Youth Lacrosse System) Thunderhawks Select travel team, for the past several years. I am now playing for 919 Elite, a high school elite travel team in the Raleigh area. I also played this summer for Shred and Thread. I was also honored to have been selected to represent the state of North Carolina at the 2016 Brine National Lacrosse Academy and National Lacrosse Classic in Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. I will also be attending the 2017 Brine National Academy as a member of the West and Syracuse teams.

My primary positions are attack and midfielder. I am known for my speed, strength, and aggression. I am also ambidextrous, as I write with my left hand and eat with my right. I have found that this benefits me with my shooting skills as well. During my seasons with Thunderhawks Select we have had very successful seasons winning the South Carolina Shootout, Shake and Bake Showdown, Martinsville Cardinal Cup, and Virginia Beach Turkey Shootout. I am looking forward to competing this summer in Maryland, Virginia, and South Carolina as well. With many of this areas successful high school coaches as part of the Thunderhawks organization, I feel confident that my skills as a lacrosse player will continue to strengthen and grow.

In my free time, I attend individual and small group strength and agility training three times a week. I also volunteer to help at local lacrosse clinics and camps, working with the younger players and helping them to develop their skills. I also am a certified youth lacrosse referee. Last summer I spent a week training at the US Naval Academy’s Extended Position Lacrosse Camp. I continue to strive and strengthen my skills so that I may strongly represent whomever I play for. I look forward to learning more about your lacrosse program and hope that you will consider me as a future recruit.
