Keile Saylors
Recruit Profile
Solid player with a high lacrosse IQ, exceptional stick skills and control, always hungry to learn more. Ability to feed targeted passes/shots through heavy traffic. 2 sport athlete.
My name is pronounced Keelee, but most coaches just call me Key. I am a Senior at McEachern HS. After my older sister introduced my family to lacrosse, I started playing with my older brothers and their friends in the backyard. When I was 7, I found a girls team and I've played on teams ever since. I am a 3yr varsity starter on my High School team and continue to play with the Sharks and GA Peaches.
Typically, I feel I'm not the kind of player that catches the eye of coaches at first. I'm not the one you'd see running up and down the field, making cool trick shots. However, I am a solid team player who plays an important role on my team, I know my value and what I contribute, and I know what I do is important for a successful offense. I can score, and I do often, but I am extra good at feeding the ball through heavy traffic for an assist and playing defense during transitions. I can read the field and evaluate my options to identify the best path(s) to score. I work with my teammates and communicate to set up the field, directing traffic and drawing players away from my teammates, whatever is necessary to help my team score. These are qualities that my coach often says are hard to find in a player, which is why it was such a compliment when a clinic coach said, "you want her on your team, because you don't want to play against her."
In addition to lacrosse, I am a 2nd year varsity starting player on our Girls Flag Football team. I play center and slot receiver. We made it to the Elite 8 in the State 7A Playoffs both years and won the Area 1 Championship this year. I enjoy playing football but want to continue to play lacrosse in college.
