Recruit Profile
Be humble & hustle! Very coachable, riding attackman who is a team player with a high Lax IQ and a strong work ethic.
From my first lacrosse season in 4th grade, I've worked hard to be a dependable team player and have consistently achieved high stats in assists, ground balls, forced turnovers, and goals. As a member of the Hayfield Varsity lacrosse team since my freshman year, and with the support of my team, I achieved:
- Most assists in a varsity season (Freshman)
- First Team All District (Freshman)
- Honorable Mention All Region (Freshman)
- Athletic Honor Roll (Freshman)
- Honorable Mention All District (Sophomore)
- Comeback Player of the Year (Sophomore)
I play on the True 2024 Black team and was selected to play for the 2024 True DMV team. I am also a member of the Hayfield Secondary golf team. I am certified lifeguard, guard at the Hayfield Swim Club, a member of the Bethany Beach Junior Lifeguard Program and have participated in several Junior Lifeguard Olympics. In addition to lacrosse, as a youth athlete I played soccer, basketball, flag football, and swam at the rec level.
I have a 3.5 GPA and am taking AP-level courses. I have been routinely recognized for academic achievements including All A and A-B honor roll, President's Education Award for Academic Excellence, and Athletic Honor Roll.
I am enrolled in the JROTC Leadership, Education and Training 2 (LET 2) program and currently hold the rank of Cadet Sergeant First Class (C/SFC).
I enjoy volunteering for Blessings in a Backpack and am halfway to earning my Service Learning Merit achievement. I also completed the U.S. Lacrosse Junior Coach Certification and have started coaching new players and volunteering at my former rec club's novice clinics.

Jack is a talented attackman that has a strong stick, high lacrosse IQ, great sense of where to be and when off the ball, and has proven to be a consistent shooter and feeder. He is a great competitor who is always willing to step up to a challenge, scrap for a tough groundball, or challenge defenders in the ride. He is an unselfish player with a team first mentality. He is always willing to do anything to help his team win and is a supportive teammate on and off the field. He has a great hunger and desire to get better and has consistently improved year to year since I've coached him in the True Lacrosse program. He would be a great addition to any college locker room and his potential is extremely high with his competitive attitude and drive.
James Mercer
Jack has an excellent lacrosse mind. He understands attack very well, is a pass first teammate, and always seems to be in the right place. As his game and body grow physically, Jack uses his lax IQ to his advantage. He is very unselfish, and will set picks, or make the extra pass every time. Scoring wise, Jack, if left uncovered, and/or slightly open, will use his creativity to find the back of the net. As a freshman last season he had 10 goals, and 13 assists. While he can play all attack positions, he is at his best when he plays low wing, where his passing can be dynamic, finding teammates on the crease, and occasionally sneak past his defender, to score with his patented mid range bounce shot.
