Carson Monroe
Recruit Profile
Extremely coachable team player with strong LAX IQ. An accurate long range shooter. A shifty dodger and superior passer. Moves well on offensive without the ball. Overall an intelligent, unselfish, athletic, disciplined, and aggressive two way midfielder and attack.
I have been active in competitive lacrosse since 3rd grade. Adam Felicetti (Notre Dame Lacrosse #3) gave me my first stick, and has been my private LAX coach/mentor since I started playing. I am athletic, agile, quick, and a very accurate shooter from distance. I am a fast wing dodger, passer and finisher. I am an active player constantly moving on offense (even without the ball). I enjoy sharing the ball and playing team offense. I have been a full-time starter and a major contributor on my school's varsity team since Freshman year.
I love the game for its heritage and spiritual connection to the Native American Community. My dad grew up in College Park, MD. He took me home to learn from some of the best in the game (Chris Boland (Hopkins); Deemer Class (Duke); Mark Millon (UMass/Hall of Fame LAX/USA Lacrosse); Kyle Harrison (Hopkins). Since the 5th grade, I have travelled to train in Maryland in the Winter, Spring and Summer months. My LAX motto: Born in Los Angeles; trained in Maryland. I have played and trained in several counties in Maryland (including, Baltimore; Hartford; Anne Arundal; Prince Georges); and played in lacrosse tournaments all along the Northeast (including, Delaware, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania). I learned the best team and two man offense from Mark Millon (LAX Hall of Fame) and Pat Hanley of Hanleys Gym in Bel Air, MD. In Hanleys Gym, I compete in pick up games with elite lacrosse players from Gilman, McDonnogh, Calvert Hall, and St. Paul.
I plan to take one or two AP courses in the Spring semester of my sophomore year. In the Spring, I am also taking an independent study course that I created entitled Modern PC Assembly & Design; where I teach underprivileged kids how to build custom computers.
I am very active in my community as a leader and mentor to others. During the Summer of 2022, I interned at the Veterans Hospital in West Los Angeles in the Candy Striper Program. I also interned in the IT Department of a High School in Los Angeles; helping to build over 40 custom computers and troubleshooting IT issues for administrators and teachers. In addition, I am an Eagle to Eagle mentor at my high school, helping younger high school students get acclimated at Brentwood. I am also a member of the Young Black Scholars program; a program where young black male teenagers meet to discuss issues and have workshops in finance, government and entrepreneurial endeavours. Finally, I served as a Boy Scout for 3 years, earning my Arrow of Freedom.

Carson is a hardworking and dedicated young man and lacrosse player. He is always early to the field and ready to put in the work with a smile on his face. His work ethic and maturity stand out when watching him play. A great leader amongst his teammates and peers. He is quick to apply lessons from the training field right to game play. It has been incredible to see how far he has come over the last 4-5 years, not only with his physical skills, but his lacrosse IQ and leadership skills. I can't wait to see where his journey on the lacrosse field takes him!

Carson is not only a great lacrosse player but an amazing person. He is hardworking, smart and athletic. His work ethic will allow him to continue to succeed on the field of competition, in the classroom and professionally. He is extremely coachable and applies lessons learned from me to the field of play. There is no doubt in my mind that Carson will succeed in college at a high level. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Carson!
