Bella Magliozzo
Recruit Profile
Coachable team player possessing strong commitment to excellence both on and off the field
The 2022 season marks the second year I have been playing travel lacrosse. Before that, I trained 30 hours a week as a USAG gymnast until I had a back injury which prevented me from competing. Luckily, I had an amazing lacrosse coach who encouraged me to go full force into the sport. I will never forget his inspiring words..."Bella, I don't care if you are amazing at gymnastics, you are meant to play lacrosse". Those words marked the beginning of my lacrosse career and brought me to where I am today. This year, as a freshman, I made my high school varsity team. My versatility as a player allowed me the opportunity to train as a defender for my high school this season. My high school coach described me as having a "team-first" attitude, knowing she could play me wherever I was needed. Even though this was the first time I stepped onto the field as a defender, I was given difficult tasks such as face-guarding a D1 commit and holding her to just 1 free position goal. Which later, was described on NJ.com as "...the toughest defense she had encountered all season." Going into only my second year of playing lacrosse, not only am I confident using both hands, I also possess great stickwork and a strong lacrosse IQ that even my coaches can attest to. Moreover, my speed allows me to get the ball where it needs to be. I train 5 times a week in the off season and I am fully committed to getting myself prepared to the best of my ability to enable me the opportunity to play in college. Academically, I am in honors classes and on track to take AP courses next year. My aspirations for the future include playing lacrosse in college, and entering a criminal justice program. I believe with my tenacity and persistence I would make an amazing addition to any college lacrosse program.
